Se DsO tivesse optado para uma sonoridade mais extrema, não tão matemática e colidisse com Funeral Mist soaria assim! Basicamente são estas pequenas coisas que ainda fazem ferver o sangue quando se ouve música ou melhor se procura música que dê um passo em frente! Não sei como seguirá, mas este album para já igualou o Flesh Cathedral e o Aphotic Womb na lista de preferidos da "cena" islandesa…depois de dois álbuns "bons" a velha teoria do terceiro album veio dissipar as dúvidas todas! É um daqueles trabalhos que roçam a perfeição em todos os sentidos! Altamente recomendável!!!

The White Swan - Nocturnal Transmission

Uma das ultimas descobertas e que tem tido algum tempinho dedicado por aqui são estes The White Swan. Canadianos e liderados pela Mercedes Lander, que alguns reconhecerão como a baterista de Kittie..movem-se pelo Sludge/Doom mais delicado onde o peso e a melodia se assumem como pilares base e a voz sugere aquele encanto e misticismo dos anos 70 originando um som refrescante e agradavel para estes dias de chuva...

Teitanblood - Purging Tongues - Demon 1990

Versão alternativa e extra contida na nova edição do ep. Mais crua, mais extrema, mais primitiva, ligeiramente mais longa, instrumental.....e sem a voz do NSK ou do declamador espanhol a dar o toque apocalíptico que torna a música um autêntico hino demoniaco! No entanto esta nova versão mantem o mesmo estado agoniante e desolador e se a versão original era algo visto pelos olhos do homem esta será a visão do Diabo perante....o final!

Qrixkuor - Zoetrope

Provavelmente o melhor deles até agora...24 minutos perfeitos em que o Death-Metal se funde com uma extrema e bizarra sinfonia que destroi tudo á sua volta!!

Gevurah - Gehinnom

Liturgico, espiritual, violento...uma lança na direção do peito judaico!

Edição repartida entre a Profound Lore e a EAL este regresso da banda canadiana é um daqueles albuns que mantem algo mais do que simples sonoridade extrema, colocando uma coroa de espinhos em cima do atual movimento um pouco como foi o ultimo de Lvcifyre.. 

Extrema qualidade onde a negação religiosa é transformada num manifesto de proporções demoniacas assentes num altar onde escorre sangue e o cheiro a enxofre paira no ar.. 

Recomendado e seguramente um dos melhores albuns de Death-Metal..deste ano!

Chrome Ghost - House of Falling Ash

Mais um excelente regresso da banda californiana... Neurosis, Yob, Amenra, Bongripper são referencias e para quem não conhece, no bandcamp em baixo com uma faixa deste album...recomendo uma escuta do The Diving Bell!

Para quem sente saudades de uns Cult of Luna mais crús e onde se acrescem ambientes (tal como nos suecos) introspectivos, emocionais e meio cosmicos é a proposta desta banda chilena..primeiro album mas uma excelente surpresa que teve algum destaque por estes lados nos ultimos tempos dentro do genero.

Premonições : Lord Of Confusion

Lord Of Confusion is a Doom band with influences from Psychedelic Rock, resulting in a hypnotic and colossal sound. The members are Carlota Sousa on vocals and keyboards, Danilo on guitar, Nelson Figueiredo on drums and João Fonseca on bass. Led by a powerful voice and heavy riffs, this band approaches themes of occult and mystery. Inspired by horror movies and old classics, the band was formed in mid 2018 and has been active since 2019. They have been inspired by bands from the 70s to bands from nowadays, from the experimental genre to black metal. Ars Hmu - Empire of Impurity

Segundo album para o projeto que junta musicos de Gardsghastr, Chaos Moon, Musmahhu, Greve, Bekëth Nexëhmü ,o que por si só já demonstra o que se pode esperar. Musicalmente dentro daquilo que a Ancient tem vindo a mostrar nos ultimos anos e com pilares bem vincados na sonoridade nordica da segunda metade dos anos 90 este Empire of Impurity segue ou mantem a linha mestra daquilo que o projeto mostrou no anterior The Dawn of Black Pansophy elevando um pouco mais a atmosfera criativa. Extremo, noturno e com um sentido melodico que nos envolve e quase hipnotiza este album é mais uma obra prima que certamente não deve passar despercebida a quem procura algo mais que violência sonora!

Premonições: Blut Aus Nord - Disharmonium - Undreamable Abysses

The tide turns once again. From tumultuous oceanic depths French legend BLUT AUS NORD erupts onland in all its singular dissonant glory: be-tentacled, malformed, accursed, fearsome. Following up the purported 'new era' of melodicism ushered in by 2019's lauded "Hallucinogen", new work "Disharmonium - Undreamable Abysses" finds the leaders-in-perpetuity of Avant-garde Industrialised Black Metal compelled to reassume their rightful throne, crowning nigh-on 28 years of consistency with seven mesmerising tracks of bleakly-maximalist harmonic unease. Jesus Wept - Psychedelic Degeneracy (ep)

Segundo ep desta jovem banda norte americana que se foca numa especie de mescla Carcass meets qualquercoisacore que à partida pode não ter muito a ver mas se pensarmos bem no registo vocal do Jeff Walker e o comparamos com aquilo que algumas bandas mais jovens e modernas têm vindo a gerar nos ultimos anos não parecerá assim tão bizarro..aliás este ep é de certa forma quase um tributo a fase pos Necrotism da banda de Liverpool, principalmente se nos centrarmos mais naquele Death n'Roll sem com isso deixar de fora aquele balanço que tornou os ingleses uma banda tão incomum na altura. O que esta malta de Detroit aqui mostra no entanto consegue a curiosa tarefa de tornar estes simples quatro temas em algo que não acusa incomodo ou aborrecimento mesmo com o tal constante deja vu a pairar por cima, como nos leva a pensar se isto tivesse outro cunho, provavelmente este material seria alvo de mais procura no entanto não deixa de ser bastante interessante aquilo que se ouve aqui! (e sim estava mesmo a querer dizer que isto consegue a espaços ser melhor que Carcass)

Hexerei - Ancient Evil Spirits

Na verdade este album saiu em 2021 mas apenas em formato digital.. Sendo assim nada melhor que uma das editoras mais atentas ao que de mais interessante se vai fazendo dentro das sonoridades mais extremas lançar o laço para apanhar esta besta finlandesa, neste caso a Sentient Ruin Laboratories. Dito isto o que resta acrescentar é que este album é uma veneração quase total de Katharsis!! Acho que deve chegar para lançar um sorriso malicioso, certo? Aqui:

De Arma - Nightcall (ep)

O que esperar de dois musicos com passado (ou presente) em Armagedda, Kaos Sacramentum ou Grifteskymfning? 

Provavelmente tudo menos Black Metal violento ou mistico...pode parecer irónico mas não, já que a dupla Andreas Pettersson e Johan Marklund o que aqui faz neste novo ep De Arma é trazer novamente à tona aquela sonoridade urbana e algo saudosista dos anos 80, onde se vão afogando influências de synthpop (que hoje em dia terá como uns dos grandes porta estandartes o projeto Drab Majesty) e se mistura aquele sentido negro e melancolico que tão tragicamente dá um certo encanto e decadência a este tipo de som que por vezes quase cai dentro do universo POP, aliás a ultima das três faixas vocalizada pela Maria Oja acaba por ser um bom exemplo do que quero dizer, sem com isso gerar ou criar um efeito de mau estar auditivo. 

Bastante interessante e se gostam de algo como escrevi em cima proximo de Drab Majesty, Depeche Mode e outros nomes que exploram este lado mais mais emocional, dreamy ou atmosferico certamente vão ter aqui uns belos 25 minutos de puro prazer.
