"Gryftigæn is consecrated in anno 2019 by “Lord Valtgryftåke” Guitars/Lyrics/Vocals. Subsequently be part “Lord Nbl Dmn III” Drums/Percussions. Through different magical sounds and spectral vibrations what characterizes as “Oneiric Nigredo” the magical articulation of this muziek is crystallized and channeled through the empyrical prisms of the Death worship-Black sorcery & Privitivism. This entity revives the ancient legacy of the 90´s dark ages in the witchcraft path, the essence is to embody itself as the sacralical acts of reverberation and the poisonous enchantment of Man. The name “Gryftigæn” consists of two ancient words fragmented from the Poisonous that is described in Germanic texts and ancient words from Proto-escandinavian themes referred to “Place of rest or Buried”. “Pneuma D´yakh” It was one of the first hymns of high magic that demostrated the musical level of these two tyrants from the land of eternal mist “Valdivia” located in the south of Chile. Já são alguns anos em cima e a música extrema é muitas vezes o fio condutor para se respirar...seja o que isto queira dizer ou signifique, se é que significa...no entanto existem pequenas coisas que são tão ou mais importantes que os ecos criados pelos instrumentos musicais, falo naturalmente da arte visual que tão importante é neste meio e que acaba por se complementar como um todo..nem que seja uma simples capa negra. O Timo Ketola fazia parte daquelas poucas entidades que conseguiam recrirar todo o imaginário sonoro e transforma-lo em pesadelos visuais de uma forma arrepiante e mais importante que tudo era uma das pessoas mais respeitadas no meio o que por si só já diz muito. Acabou a viagem para ele...no entanto será Eterno.

Não faço ideia quem sejam as criaturas por detrás disto, nem me interessa muito sinceramente, mas isto é um album que já fazia falta aparecer por cá..vai passar ao lado certamente, como passou Lord Of Confusion no ano passado...
Talvez se colocassem um politico lá pelo meio alguns abriam os olhos..ou os ouvidos!
Altamente recomendável esta bizarra mistura de Type O Negative, Sleep, Electric Wizard, Cultes des Ghoules isto para dar exemplos basicos e que transformam o album numa especie de liturgia diabolica carregada de misticismo e bruxaria..

Uma das bandas mais interessantes de se seguir na minha opinião, até porque gosto imenso do ep "Suicide Torment" são estes Overthrust..meanwhile o que aqui se ouve (desta vez com a produção certa) é sem qualquer duvida o seu melhor tema. Cada vez mais curioso para ouvir o segundo album destes rapazes vindos do Botswana... Entretanto fica tambem o Suicide Torment:

O anterior ep desta banda vinda da Indonesia teve algum destaque por aqui há uns anos atrás e sempre os manti um pouco debaixo de olho, até porque achava que o "Enshrine In Chaos" era uma especie de segredo bem guardado dentro do movimento extremo asiatico e achava que o projeto teria poder para ombrear com outros nomes do genero ou criar/oferecer algo interessante no futuro. Pois bem o futuro chegou através da espanhola Black Seed que vai editar o primeiro album em Setembro, mas já se podem ouvir os primeiros sons do "Stellar Abomination"... Häxenzijrkell - Die Nachtseite

AMOR FATI PRODUCTIONS is proud to present HÄXENZIJRKELL's highly anticipated debut album, Die Nachtseite, on CD and vinyl LP formats. Ever since the release of their first demo tape back in 2016, HÄXENZIJRKELL marched on their very own path towards the bottomless pit of darkness. Raw and resolute black metal was the German duo's foundation; the mysteries of the beyond was their goal. And thirsty and miserable was that march, stridently suffocating the listener (and perhaps themselves) with epic-length screeds of despair and dread, culminating in two more EPs as well as split EPs with LVTHN and Brånd in 2019 and 2020, respectively. May Our Chambers Be Full straddles a similar, very fine line both musically and thematically. Duas propostas cruas e algo primitivas mas que podem a trazer algo de interessante num futuro proximo.

Pregados numa especie de experimentalismo sonoro focado no Sludge/Doom esta banda texana pode vir a ser (isto a julgar por esta demo) uma das próximas grandes apostas de algumas editoras norte americanas, daquelas que tentam cruzar barreiras onde o extremismo se funde com uma certa estranheza próxima do indie..talvez soe meio bizarro mas escutem por exemplo a "Bloodshed Obsession" e tirem as vossas conclusões...

Estes vindos do Canadá são outro nome interessante, embora diferentes de Oil Spill e mais direcionados para aquele Black Metal atmosférico conseguem nesta demo (apesar da produção algo tosca) criar uma base sonora que mesmo não sendo original consegue a espaços captar um pouco da aura existente em alguns lançamentos nordicos da decada de 90...

HAD - Had (mlp)

Provavelmente o album mais interessante vindo da Islândia da fase pos-Aphotic Womb! 

O ep de 2017 já deixava boas indicações que aqui se confirmam..ficando a ideia, mesmo com o aparente efeito de monotonia que parece ter-se abatido no movimento islandês ainda vão surgindo algumas perolas por descobrir como é o caso de Nexion. A sonoridade é ou tem por base aquilo inicialmente explorado por Sinmara, Chao ou Svartidaudi não é novidade é certo, mas devolve um pouco o extremismo sonoro que se perdeu ligeiramente nos ultimos registos destes nomes..não existe muito mais a acrescentar se conhecem o que se fala aqui provavelmente sabem ao que vão...

OČI VLKA - Demo

OČI VLKA (translated to English: "Eyes of Wolf") is a two-piece band formed in 2018 in the city called Chomutov, which is located in the Ore mountains in Czech Republic. This area is well-known for eternal winters and for a bloody history after the Second World War. OČI VLKA state that they don't have any musical inspirations - "We listen tons of stuff, and this stuff primarily depends on our mood" - but one can certainly detect traces of black metal, death metal, doom, and grind of various stylistic strands each. What results is an utterly ugly smokestack of dread, darkness, and scorched-earth emotion. The physicality is palpable, and leaden with a heft that betrays the band's two-person membership; in fact, OČI VLKA's swarming attack would be irrevocably overwhelming if not for the fact that the duo's songwriting patiently plays itself out, establishing mood just as handily as metallic might, and altogether creates a sensation of hovering hypnosis...all before the reality hits you, HARD, and drags you down to the abyss.

Deadlight Sanctuary - Deadlight Sanctuary

Deadlight Sanctuary is a solo project of G., notorious for being one of the ghouls behind Norwegian black/death/war metal terrorists Goatkraft. In Deadlight Sanctuary G. has however steered his attention toward the more ritualistic, contemplative and esoteric fringes of black metal, seeking out instead the perverse, morbose, doomed and decadent moods and atmospheres we've seen in bands like Beherit and most recently in Demoncy, a couple of G.'s long running musical inspirations. The end result became "Thaumaturgical Rites of the Damned", G's debut solo album under the Deadlight Sanctuary moniker, a lone descent by the Norwegian musician into a sonic underworld of esoteric perversions and decaying sepulchers drenched with the stench of death. Steeping in deviancy and decadence, "Thaumaturgical Rites of the Damned" is an exercise in sonic disgust, defilement, and abandon, in which black metal has embraced the most decaying realms of inverted filth-worship, giving way to doomy rhythms and tempos that have masterfully re-evoked the tank-linke stylistic resemblances of early Demoncy, along with the disgusting, evil, and lurid atmospheres we've seen spew forth by Beherit in their now legendary "Drawing Down the Moon" album.

Sinistral King - Serpent Uncoiling

Projeto com ligações a Vredehammer onde basicamente se segue a corrente atual do Death/Black de tendência mais religiosa e cerimonial, no entanto ao invés de ser cavernoso ou ritualista opta por uma abordagem que faz lembrar bandas como SepticFlesh, Behemoth atual ou uns Mephorash onde a produção cristalina se assume como destaque e fio condutor de toda esta sonoridade..um album de fácil escuta e sejamos honestos tambem não procura trazer inovação a este tipo de cenários nem o pretende creio..mesmo assim são 45 minutos (mais ou menos) de escuta que não cansam e até tem alguns toques curiosos, como o efeito algo deja vu nos vocais que faz lembrar os Opeth do antigamente ou até uns Edge of Sanity..
Recomendável.

Fantastica demo desta banda polaca, sonoridade clássica focada em monstros como Incantation ou Crematory (por ex)...não existe muito a escrever para se descrever estes três temas e estes pouco mais de 10 minutos de brutalidade a não escrever cliquem em play ONLY DEATH IS REAL!!!

Goden - Beyond Darkness

"Goden is the spiritual successor to Winter, a band that has been heavily influential and highly revered in the metal underground since its inception and treasured demos. A long-awaited continuation of what Winter would have been from co-founder Stephen Flam’s vision, the new album “Beyond Darkness” throws us into an existential voyage out of the past and into the future. A familiar yet distinctive new opus that expands the unmapped shadow world that Winter once opened in our nightmares.
A soundtrack that takes the listener on a dark and ominous journey, Beyond Darkness is a conceptual deep dive into wildly unexplored and unknown sonic territory. The story has three characters, each with different symbols: Stephen Flam as “Spacewinds”, the time and space in which these characters dwell; Vas Kallas as “NXYTA (Goddess of Night)”, lead vocalist and the darkness: Tony Pinnisi as “The Prophet of Goden”, who speaks in the name of Goden and is the light, plays keyboards and also played in Winter. Foi durante anos um dos segredos mais ocultos do Underground até porque a curiosidade em ouvir como funcionaria a voz do NSK de Teitanblood neste campo é, acredito motivo de interesse/curiosidade para muita gente...pois bem dos poucos que tiveram a oportunidade de ouvir a gravação original (mesmo sendo algo básica nivel de som), sabem da qualidade do material, alias o mcd Serpent's Dance que trazia a escondida "Tiamtü" (com a voz do Moloch) já dava para sentir que isto era quase uma heresia ficar assim..

São a cada album que lançam uma das mais interessantes e consistentes propostas dentro da musica extrema europeia atual e este "Degen Van Licht" não é excepção.
Talvez o mais aberto mas ao mesmo tempo mais intimista album da banda holandesa até agora e aquele onde as vocalizações da T. se envolvem de forma perfeita com a melodia crua do projeto dando origem a uma especie de transe auditivo que nos deixa subjugados perante toda esta avalanche de extremismo ambiental mas ao mesmo tempo tambem frio e algo emocional..alias o artwork é perfeito para o que se ouve.
Altamente recomendável...

Black Vice - The Alchemist's Vision

USBM daquele com os pontinhos todos alinhados para os hipsters criarem figuras esotéricas e pentagramas enquanto acendem uma ou duas velas...sim, mas também não, porque o material que aqui se ouve recupera algum do misticismo sonoro que ajudou a elevar alguns dos nomes base do movimento norte americano como Weakling ou Ash Borer a outros patamares que não só a "trend"...resumindo isto é acima da média e talvez se torne numa espécie de "nextbigthing" em alguns sitios, o que a meu ver até fará sentido, porque não me recordo de ouvir um album de USBM nos ultimos meses tão bom quanto este..
O album irá sair em Março e ainda não existem temas de avanço no Bandcamp, no entanto fica aqui o link para a coisa..mal esteja disponivel irei colocar.

Sign Of Evil - Psychodelic Horror

Erm..quando se pensa que a cena chilena começa a soar e a padecer do usual "vamos todos fazer a mesma coisa" eis que surge este pequeno "monstro".
Com musicos (ou musico!) de Invocation Spells o que aqui se ouve é um sinistro (no real sentido da palavra) hibrido de Death/Thrash sul americano com algo proximo do Krautrock ou das velhas OST criadas para aqueles velhos classicos de horror dos anos 60/70...tudo isto quando se une transforma-se numa das mais viciantes propostas deste ano!!

Mais uma viagem ao passado vinda da Werewolf Records...
Black Metal sinfonico a fazer lembrar alguma da sonoridade inicial de bandas como Dimmu Borgir quando deambulavam pela floresta misturado com toques de vampirismo dos anos 90.
Por vezes proximo (embora não com o mesmo enfase) de Vargrav a nivel de ambiente..acaba por ser uma boa proposta para quem procura um pouco do espirito de algum Black Metal nórdico mais mistico e algo "tosco"..mas não viveu esses tempos.

Resumindo Black-Metal assumidamente nacionalista no que ao México diz respeito e onde a influência do Black Twilight Circle californiano acaba por ser o seu principal foco a nivel de sonoridade, sendo esta bem explorada e vincada originando um album muitissimo interessante a meu ver isto para quem gosta ou procura bandas que misturem o lado extremo com musicalidade mais ancestral/primitiva de onde são va lá originárias as suas raizes.
Dito isto creio que dá para se ter uma ideia ao que vão..outra curiosidade o unico membro deste projeto toca ao vivo com Blue Hummingbird on the Left.

Não desilude para quem gostou das demos...Sonoridade extrema, labiríntica muito proxima do Death/Black-Metal violento atual (não, não estou a falar da palermice hipster chamada War Metal) com ligeiros toques mais progressivos/técnicos...algo entre uns Nyogthaeblisz e os Blut Aus Nord dos tempos do "The Mystical..."
Certamente não será para todos...tudo muito feio e escuro..mas delicioso!

Sem duvida um dos mais interessantes projetos vindos da Alemanha atualmente...segundo album e ligeiramente superior ao já excelente "Silent Leges Inter Arma" de 2018.

Terceiro album para a banda eslovaca. Apesar de não ter gostado por ai além dos anteriores albuns nem entender muito bem o porquê do hype..neste album, confesso que ainda não foi desta que conseguiram mudar a minha opinião, sim, a sonoridade orelhuda tenta agradar, algo entre o Metal mais tradicional com pitadas de psicadelismo que vai beber a algumas OST dos anos 60/70 como já fizeram nos anteriores no entanto dentro desta sonoridade "sinistra" existem outros nomes que me parecem mais "robustos", mesmo havendo aqui algumas faixas muito boas...resumindo escuta agradável sim..mas creio que lhe falta algo mais..principalmente a nivel vocal mesmo sendo ou tendo a banda um novo vocalista..no entanto quem gostou dos anteriores creio que até vai gostar mais deste album!
